Cantala: A Celebration of Resilience Through Music

At Cantala, music is more than notes on a page—it is a vessel for stories, emotions, and strength. This season, our repertoire shines a light on a theme that resonates deeply with our choir and our community: feminine resilience and perseverance.

From the earliest days of Cantala, founder and artistic director Nancy Singla envisioned an ensemble that empowers voices—both literally and metaphorically. Our singers come together, each bringing unique experiences, challenges, and triumphs, yet harmonizing as one. This unity mirrors the very essence of resilience: finding strength in connection, courage in vulnerability, and beauty in persistence.

Feminine resilience is evident in the stories of the composers we celebrate, the texts we perform, and in the voices of the singers themselves.
