Welcome to Cantala's 19th Season!
We're thrilled to welcome you to Cantala Choir's 19th season of making beautiful music together! Every season brings new challenges, inspiring repertoire, and memorable performances, and this year is shaping up to be one of our most exciting yet.

This fall, we'll be presenting two concerts that showcase the rich, diverse programming Cantala has become known for.
Our first performance takes place on Thursday, November 19, 2026 (time to be announced) as part of the Four Seasons Free Concert Series at Todmorden Mills in Toronto. Our program, Méditations, will explore themes of reflection, beauty, and hope in an intimate setting.
We'll then continue the season with our annual winter concert on Saturday, December 12, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Forest Hill United Church. This has become one of our favourite traditions—a warm and welcoming evening of music to celebrate the season.
This year's repertoire is both moving and eclectic. Audiences can look forward to Marie-Claire Saindon's Méditations de la Vierge Marie, performed with string quartet, alongside Gerda Blok-Wilson's Lullay My Liking, Erica Phare-Bergh's Noël Nouvelet, and Michael McGlynn's breathtaking Jerusalem. We'll also perform the beloved traditional Catalan Christmas song El Cant dels Ocells ("The Song of the Birds"), arranged by Bernat Vivancos, selections by Ola Gjeilo, and a lively collection of holiday favourites with a jazz twist.
As always, our program reflects the spirit of Cantala. We'll be singing in multiple languages, exploring a variety of musical styles, and embracing repertoire that inspires us to grow as musicians while sharing meaningful experiences with our audiences.
We're already looking ahead to our Spring 2027 season, and we can't wait to share more details in the coming months.
