Nancy Singla, Founder/Artistic Director

Nancy Singla is the Founder and Artistic Director of Cantala Choir, where she is known for her passionate leadership, innovative programming, and commitment to artistic excellence. Under her direction, Cantala has become an award-winning ensemble recognized for its expressive performances, adventurous repertoire, and dedication to Canadian choral music.

Nancy is a secondary school music teacher with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) and serves as Director of Music at Forest Hill United Church in Toronto. She holds a Master of Music (MMus) in Choral Conducting from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Music (BMus) in vocal performance from the University of Victoria, and an Associate Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music (ARCT) and the Victoria Conservatory of Music (AVCM) in piano performance. In 2022, she completed a Master of Teaching (MT) at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto.

Nancy is passionate about creating inclusive, inspiring musical experiences that bring people together through the transformative power of choral singing. She lives in Toronto with her husband and two children.
