Sneek peek: Cantala in Recording Action
We finished up our spring recording project this past week! The piece titled Lullaby, is a musical audioscape by Toronto composer James Rolfe. Working with Michelle Colton was a wonderful experience. She is very professional and taught us all about the different mallets used with the Marimba and how they change its sound. She changed on a whim when we needed new tempos and new textures. Thank you Michelle for being so wonderful to work with.
The whole project was a great success. Check out the comments from the singers in this project.
“I am SO PROUD to be a part of this group. This was quite the project and it feels so good to do a great job! ”
“Wow that was amazing! Thank you Nancy- and everyone- for working so hard on this piece. It was an honour to be part of it and I look forward to see what we can accomplish next. ”
Here is a sneak peek at what it is like in a recording session with Cantala. You will hear the official audio version on our upcoming album release titled Songbird this Fall 2024.
“ [It”s] such a privilege to be in such talented company. ”
